Ebay wants you to put “bundle” in the heading now if it’s coming with a charger… don’t know what that’s about but it is what it is. PROOF OF FUNCTIONALITY IS IN THE PICS- LAST ONE AS RECENT AS 9/29/23… I don’t use it, but I will take updated pictures accordingly.

macbook… and I am still using it 100%… as an extra- a spare, a “disposable” to use on the fly and to travel with etc, and I’m not selling this for anything less than $150. I can still use it / using it / usable. IT WORKS. IT WORKS SO HARD, IN FACT I HAD LEFT IT ON FOR NEARLY ONE YEAR (sleeping) AND IT STILL WORKS LIKE BRAND NEW- aside from the speakers being low). IT GOES MAYBE A WHOLE WEEK ON SLEEP OFF THE CHARGER WITHOUT NEEDING TO BE PLUGGED IN= THAT BATTERY IS DIE HARD POWERFUL RIGHT NOW.
ANY MACBOOK in ANY condition is worth money. These things never die and in 2022 NEW, they cost more than a used car. This MacBook works better at the current settings and specs that is has, than my upgrade of the same make and year with EIGHT gig ram and ONE TERRABYTE hard drive. Maybe these can only run fast on Catalina and High Sierra, not Big Sur (the most current OS Apple offers). The only reason I am selling it is because of the key issue, and it was a last resort last minute at the moment, but while my all purpose Mac (of the same make and year) was being repaired.
I bought it a couple years ago from Micro Center as a “certified pre-owned” with a warranty for $500.00. I might even still have the receipt. Warranty is long expired.
I bought it on the fly for TWO very valuable reasons:
1) it was empty (clean) and it still had that VERY RARE CD drive. I know you young lil pups don’t know what that is- but if you’re in the business of doing medical files, digital imaging, etc… you’ll know the value of what this is.
2) For an emergency “on the fly” backup laptop to use right then and there to do some audio editing with a two week pro tools trial download because my main computer had crashed.
It will come WIPED CLEAN with no programs on it except as from factory settings.
It works as an eleven year old lower power MacBook should work: for minor things and not as an “everything laptop.” Although you can DEFINITELY use it every day for minor things. And to carry around in case you don’t want to mess up/lose your main MacBook.
I used the CD drive to watch old DVD’s of X-Files so I know it works…. The TOP LINE of keys on the key board (the numbers) stopped working recently, this is why I have the assisted keyboard up. The mousepad works perfect as it should.
I don’t know if a factory reset will cure this, but I don’t want to lose the High Sierra in case I decide to keep this burner… so I haven’t factory reset the unit.
Last pic shows the laptop’s last reported use as 9/29/2022- hurricane ian updates = LAPTOP IS CURRENT AND WORKING CURRENT AND FULLY FUNCTIONAL WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE ASSISTED KEYPAD ISSUE WITH THE NUMBERS… it still works the same as described as seen and as shown… keep in mind, this was my BURNER unit… a backup spare “throwaway.” It works, but for exactly what I used it for as described in this listing.
The body is cosmetically acceptable, except that it’s missing the feet at the bottom… some of them. I do still have the key that has come off- (the number 1). It will come w the laptop.
Battery holds like an hour of charge at least. Maybe a few, depending on what you’re doing. Maybe more, but I always keep it in the charger. I have a charger for it- the one you see in the photo, not sure if it’s the original charger but it’s the classic “vintage” one… (those alone are like 50 online if you can find one).
THE SPEAKERS work, but they are kind of low…
Unit is coming fully charged, and with THAT charger- clean although the old model one.. not sure how much longer it will hold up for but it does charge the laptop. It may need a new little plug part (the “butt”- I may have a brand new one, if I can find it I will definitely include it. The laptop itself is reliable. LAST PICTURE SHOWS THE CHARGE AT 99%- IT GOES UP TO 100 ONCE THE BATTERY IS LOW ENOUGH AND CHARGED FULLY ALL THE WAY UP AGAIN… COMMON CHARACTERISTIC OF OLD MACS.
